Hello world!

Look Ma, it’s a blog!  Jim has joined the 20th century by starting a blog (for those who might think “what the heck is a blog?” – a blog is an internet  based “web log” or basically a self published diary).  I’ve always wanted a soapbox so here it is.  Get ready for some rants and pontifications.  Let the games begin!

But seriously, this is all about getting the news out about Stewart & Jim’s fantastic adventure to Saskatoon to see some great hockey.  We’ll post our notes, thoughts and maybe a picture or two.  Feel free to send the link to family and friends and they can (or not) check in to see what we get up to in Saskatoon.

The BLOG is a great idea Jim – we look forward to (hopefully)hearing from you every day. Hope the Canadians don’t ease up after the big blowout first game – this sometimes happens – I think it’s Sweden next.

    Cheers Dad

Wow, this is so cool. Awesome descriptions too…of everything. Good to hear the weather is fantastic, well a step up from negative 28! I agree with grandpa, hopefully the Canadian Boys keep up the good work and victory is ours again. Nice to hear your having a great time. Oh, and feel free to throw in some nasty details of any International Hockey Fights witnessed. Ive always been a sucker for any sort of gore in the good old hockey game. 🙂 Luv you! talk soon. be safe. Love, Kate.

BOY – was that a fabulous game – squeeking by the US team in a shootout. I still think the Canadians won it in regular time – the goal they scored in the last two minutes should not have been waived off. Your mother got so worked up after the US team scored two short handed goals that she had to stop watching (however, I kept her posted).

Heard your temperature is minus 40 degrees – try to keep warm. It rained here today. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Yeah wow what a game. I have to admit, I was not feeling the greatest and doubting the Canadians come-back hope. In fact when I [everyone in the building] thought the Canadians scored, I raised my arms in the air and at the same time they guy on my left lifted his head into my arm. I felt bad. But thankfully he was forgiving. Anyways, it was a great game and as one man said as we left the arena “This should be a good wake up call for the boys…” Happy New Year Everyone!
